The long awaited 5D was finally introduced to the world in October 2005. It slots above the 20D but below the 1D series. The biggest difference between the 20D and the 5D is that it has a full-frame 12.8MP CMOS sensor (35mm negative size). Although not an inexpensive camera, it is a more reasonably priced full-frame DSLR from Canon at $3,299 (body only) when considering the 1D costs over $5,000 many people might consider getting this camera.
