I Urgently need help! D:

Postby singsomethingxx on Thu Oct 30, 2008 12:17 am

Hey everyone. For my birthday I got an EOS Canon Rebel XTi and it worked absolutely fine until yesterday. Now, I go to turn it on and it doesn't. I didn't think anything of it because I figured I left it on like an idiot and the battery was dead. So I charged it for several hours and I go to turn it back on, it still doesn't. So I take out the memory card, turn it on again and it works fine and I can take pictures. Again, I attempt to put the memory card in and it like doesn't fit, but the little latch thing closes. And the camera just doesn't turn on and it froze when I tried to turn it off. I just tried again and it turned on with the CF card in it, and it said, 'there is a problem with the cf card. replace the cf card.' Does that mean there is a problem with the camera or the cf card?
Thank you for any help I can get! Oh and it would be helpful if anyone could specify what I do to fix the problem and if I need to send it in for repairs.

Error code 02? You could try formatting the card through the camera menu, if you are able to access the menu with your problem. I believe you can also reformat the CF card with a card reader for your computer (if you have a card reader). I would try a new CF card if you can, and see if the problem was due to the card you currently have.
