Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

The lightest EF lens of all at only 4.6oz. This was the first lens I bought after the kit lens because at 80 bucks, how can you not? It's an f/1.8! This lens can take some pretty amazing shots for an $80 lens. I highly recommend picking one of these macro lenses up when you get started. It's a joy to have and a life saver when you're in a pinch where you can't take a photo without flash in a dark setting. The only problem is that the focal length tends to be a bit too long in close up situations. But you can get some awesome bokeh with this lens (blurry background). It's so small and light that you don't even notice you have it on you.
