Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
In 2005 the EF 70-300 with IS was introduced to replace the EF 75-300 version. Its introduction has been more than well received with a new telephoto addition to the family that has both an extensive range and the 3rd generation IS feature. The lens actually has a lock button for when not the lens is not in use or in wide mode. This lens is compact, light, has great range, and is a great value at around $600. It is superior to the original in sharpness and is often considered against the 70-200 f/4L lens which is in the same price range. One nifty feature on this lens is the 2nd mode for IS which gives you IS when following a moving subject.
